PyroWorks

PyroWorks turns an invasive species problem into a carbon removal and biochar business. Three things converge in a single process: an ecological and agricultural problem solved, a climate solution delivered, and a marketable product created.

A problem solved

Lantana camara suppresses grazing and crop yields and is one of the most widespread invasive species in Zambia. Removal is delivered as a paid service to the landowner.

A climate solution delivered

The carbon in that biomass is permanently locked into biochar through pyrolysis, generating verifiable, sellable carbon removal credits.

A product created

Biochar is sold as a soil amendment on its own commercial merits — a product with a market, not a by-product given away.

PyroWorks is deliberately scoped to removal, processing and sale. Soil treatment and biochar application sit with the landowner — a considered boundary that keeps the business focused on an industrial process it controls end to end.

The process

Six steps from field to product

Removal

Complete removal of Lantana biomass from the field, performed as a paid service to the landowner and priced by local density.

Shredding & packaging

Biomass is chipped and sealed into bags at mobile field stations, ready for transport.

Seed containment

Sealed-bag packaging prevents Lantana seed spread during handling and transport — a biosecurity feature, not just logistics.

Transport

Bagged biomass moves from the field stations to the central plant, within a collection radius sized around the plant's capacity.

Drying

Incoming biomass is dried at the plant using recovered process heat before entering the reactor — at zero marginal energy cost.

06

Pyrolysis

Biomass is converted to biochar at 600–700 °C, self-sustained through recovered syngas combustion.

The technological backbone is a large-scale, modular pyrolysis plant with four reactor chambers, enabling continuous staggered-batch operation and running on its own recovered syngas. The system is supplier-specified and already proven in operation; the figures above come from its technical datasheet.

Module 2 · future

Terra Reviva

Agricultural production on restored land, with crop composition chosen for the region, buying biochar from PyroWorks for its soil value only. Deferred until PyroWorks is proven at scale.

A carbon firewall applies across Real Naturation: removal credits are sold once, by PyroWorks, and never cross into another module.
